The NIGH****CHMAN 6/15

I really hate days like this.  I like living in my baseball world, oblivious to everything else.  Then a day comes along like today and I have to face the real world because there is not much going on in the baseball world.  Maybe God is trying to get my attention.

Oleta's mom is not doing good at all.  They stopped sedating her, but are pumping her with pain meds.  She had two surgical procedures yesterday.  One to remove the liquid in her lungs, the other to remove liquid around the lungs.  The liquid around the lungs was infected, so they are pumping her with antibiotics.  They are awaiting results on the liquid that was in the lungs, if it was infected also, they may have to add other antibiotics.  Today was the first time I heard Oleta talk about IF her mother survives long enough for her son's wedding.  Which is one month away.  That is  how bad she is.  The docs say they can give antibiotics, but if the body does not accept them, there is nothing more they can do.  Oleta is a very strong gal, but she is running herself down.  She needs your prayers as much as her mother.

Prayer requests are listed below.

Also, please feel free to just visit here.  Tell us about how your day went.  Your successes.  Your failures.  Your fun.  Whatever.  When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.

Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness.  Please thank God for these men and women every day.  In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.

Hi George;

Not much to report today. After I posted this morning, I went back to sleep and didn't wake up until 10:15. Eek!

I got up and went to apply for jobs and realized that Michael had never rebooted the server after we painted the game room on Saturday. I couldn't get to my resume, cover letter or any of my other job search records. I was able to get him on the phone in ATL and get it booted, but it still wouldn't let me into my files. He was able to remote in from his work computer and fix my access by shortly after 11. The exterior painter came by to give us a quote on having the exterior painted. It came in just under $4K, so I'm thinking no.

It took me until nearly 1pm to get motivated enough to actually do anything. I applied for six jobs and then later this afternoon finally started putting the family room and kitchen back together. Tonight, a gal from my social club came by to meet Coco and Cosmo and get the house key to come let them out while I'm in Grapevine on Wednesday. After she left, I went up to the RedBox and got my free movie. I got Last Chance Harvey. I hope it's good...if it's not, at least it was free.

Tomorrow, I've got to do my job search stuff, get the hallway and bathroom ceilings cut in, keep putting stuff back where it belongs, get my eyebrows waxed (I've not gone since I lost my job, but it's a necessity before my interview), call to make some doctor appointments, RSVP to my former boss's wedding reception and prepare for leaving for Grapevine at 5am on Wednesday.

I'm going to watch my movie, but will check in later before I go to bed. Prayers for all who need them including Oleta and her mom.

Blessings, Jennifer

Part 3 of the Trifecta checkin' in!  Busy day...busy week.  My oldest is turning 16 ON the 16th...her "golden" birthday.  Funny because Paul said it made him feel old.  Me, just the opposite.  I can remember the day she was born like it was yesterday but I'm glad those years are behind us and looking forward to the future.  Definitely having the WLS has made me feel younger simply because I now have the energy to do what I do.  Tomorrow I have to get both older girls to the doc early morning as they have to get blood work done as part of their physicals they had last week.  We just HAVE to take the time to go do it!  Of course Heather was like, "I cannot believe you are making me do that ON my birthday."  I reminded her that ON the day she was born she had that PK heel ***** thing so it's just an "anniversary" of sorts!    My dad will have to run Sarah to the first hour of vacation bible school, then I have to pick her up at 10:00, then off to her tennis camp at 10:30.  ACK!  Run, Run, RUN!!!!  Hoping that goes smooth!

Hope everyone has a good day tomorrow.  Keep us posted, George, on Oleta's mom....

I hadn't even realized the Trifecta was in tact today.

Happy birthday to Heather (and to my daughter Penny).  It is now officially their birthdays.

When are you giving her the gifts?  Just curious as to which phone you get for her too.

I don't feel old at all.  Not any more.  Sometimes I kid about it saying "I'm too old for this."  or whatever.  But truth be told, I haven't felt so young in a while.

She'll probably open up the "big" present after dinner (Maggiano's).  New flat screen TV for her room.  My dad will put the mounting bracket up on the wall and get it all secured.  Should be great.  My parents had brought down one of their "old" TV's that wasn't going to jive with this new digital thing, but with cable, it doesn't matter as that does the conversion.  I think that one was 20" or so, we put that one in Viktoria's room.  They used to have like a 15" in their room so it was much bigger!  Little did Heather know she would be getting her own new TV too.  This one is the LCD HDTV so not too shabby.  I would have given anything for a TV like that!  I had some black and white job (tiny screen) in my room growing up but I didn't care, I had one in my room which was great!

Not sure what phone she will get.  They seem to change all the phones around so I have no idea what she will be eligible for.  I think the two "freebie" and/or relatively cheap ones are either a little square LG one or the Rant.  Those are the two "kid friendly" ones.  Both have GPS capabilities, too, so I can run a locator on them when or if I need to!
